Chanley Wong, Two-Time SAFTA Nominee Joins Expresso Morning Show in Johannesburg
Two‑time South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTA) nominee Chanley Wong is joining the presenter lineup of the Expresso Morning Show on SABC 3, starting 17 February 2026. Her appointment marks a return to mainstream television after several years away from the small screen, bringing her experience and versatility to one of the country’s most watched morning programmes.

Born and raised in Benoni, Wong first gained recognition on youth-focused television shows, establishing herself as a relatable and engaging on-screen presence. Over time, her work earned critical recognition, including two SAFTA nominations, highlighting her contributions to South African television.
Wong’s path back to national television was not immediate. Following a seven-year hiatus, she repeatedly auditioned for presenting roles, including waiting in line for more than 12 hours during one previous search, before securing her position on Expresso. Her journey reflects the competitive nature of broadcast careers in South Africa, where talent alone does not always guarantee visibility or opportunity.

At Expresso, Wong will join presenter Zanele Potelwa in the Johannesburg studio at the Design Quarter, Fourways. She brings a broad skill set across television, radio, and digital platforms, enabling her to engage effectively with audiences in live formats. This combination of experience positions her to handle live interviews, topical discussions, and interactive segments with viewers.

Programme managers have noted that Wong’s storytelling ability and audience engagement align closely with the show’s goals to remain relevant and reflective of contemporary South African life. Her addition is intended to strengthen the show’s connection with viewers while maintaining the informative and entertaining format for which Expresso is known.
Expresso airs weekdays on SABC 3. With Chanley Wong joining the presenter team, the show continues to balance seasoned on-air talent with emerging and returning presenters, reinforcing its place as a staple of South African morning television.

Big Brother Mzansi Season 6 Welcomes Ashay Sewlall: From Footballer to Rising Star
Ashay Sewlall, 24, from Richards Bay, is making a name for himself in Big Brother Mzansi Season 6. He brings with him a unique mix of experiences: professional football, endurance running, and content creation. Unlike many reality TV contestants, his story is rooted in discipline and perseverance rather than drama.
Sewlall played for Richards Bay FC between 2020 and 2024, where daily routines revolved around training, match performance, and teamwork. He has spoken openly about the challenges of pursuing a football career, describing the experience as a test of patience and resilience.

In 2025, he ran the Comrades Marathon, seeing it not as a race but as a personal challenge. It pushed his limits physically and mentally, while giving him a fresh perspective on his football career.
Fans quickly noticed his approach to Big Brother Mzansi. In his entry video and early interactions, Sewlall shows energy and confidence without overplaying his personality. He observes carefully, chooses when to speak, and navigates social dynamics with thoughtfulness, a strategy that sets him apart from more theatrical contestants.
He is also active on social media, engaging thousands of followers with fitness content, dance videos, and bilingual communication in English and isiZulu. His nickname, “Paprika,” emerged from his introduction video and has become widely recognized online.

Sewlall is reported to be the first contestant of Indian descent on the show. This adds an important layer to his presence, highlighting diversity in reality television and giving viewers a new perspective on the show’s audience and culture.
Inside the house, his focus is clear: stay grounded, pace himself, and reveal aspects of his personality selectively. He has said that while he values connection, he doesn’t plan to show all sides immediately, indicating a measured, strategic approach.

Unlike many contestants who fit predictable roles, Sewlall brings a combination of focus, adaptability, and calm confidence. He leverages his athletic background and public experience to navigate the pressures of reality TV without becoming one-dimensional.

Normani “Wild Side” feat Cardi B
“Normani’s label best stop sleeping on her. Motivation was amazing and this girl is an amazing performer. Promote that girl darlings! Gorgeous, sexy, so good. A modern day Ciara, Aaliyah, Janet hybrid. We see you girl”
“Aaliyah would be Proud of Normani after the Sample of “One in a Million” Her first hit Song since Motivation in 2019″
“Normani is totally next level in a young Britney Spears sense: she’s a gifted vocalist and even better gymnast, the energetic essence of ’90s and Y2K vigor absent from today’s bracket of new pop artists.” Over the last year or so, a lot of people have proposed that Normani is the next Beyoncé. I kindly call bullshit on this one. (Sure, my good sis is a magnificent performer, and could likely keep up just fine with any of Queen Bey’s dance breaks — but she doesn’t have the kind of awe-inspiring, inborn vocal ability that largely defines Beyoncé’s oeuvre.) Yet, I do believe Normani is totally next level in a young Britney Spears sense: she’s a gifted vocalist and even better gymnast, the energetic essence of ’90s and Y2K vigor absent from today’s bracket of new pop artists. On a playing field where TikTok-ready movement overshadows the spirit of old-skool athleticism, the closest things to inspiring or challenging choreography in pop music right now are performances by the likes of Mabel or Dua Lipa, lovely chart-topping singers who can bop and dance just fine — but are not dancers. On the other hand, Normani’s talent is both sonic and matchlessly visual; she could, and should, be in a lane of her own.”
“I haven’t learned anybody’s choreo in years but I will learn this. Great job Normani and team”
“She is a beautiful, black, natural, & talented sista! Reminds me so much of Ciara.”
and more…

People talks for us and we follow people cause people make artist to be proud of their work and that us medias we give us the best of entertainment.
We are so proud of Normani and this amazing job.
