Zozibini Tunzi is in Zimbabwe ahead of the Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2026 grand finale. The competition will be held in Harare on June 6.

Tunzi explained how important this pageant is. She noted that Africa is yet to produce a Miss Universe winner since 2019 and due for one. According to Tunzi, Zimbabwe could be the nation to get the Miss Universe crown.

“We haven’t had a Miss Universe from Africa in a little while now, since I was the last one. I think it’s time,” she said

Tunzi’s involvement will increase the popularity of the event. Organisers announced weeks ago that the South African beauty queen would travel to Zimbabwe to host the finale. She will co-host the event alongside Yahya Good vibes. 18 contestants are competing at this contested beauty event.

Tunzi advises contestants to be real and stay true to their purpose. She told contestants not to forget why they are in the competition.

“I would honestly tell them to remain true to who they are. To remember their purpose because it is such a huge part of this journey, since it is such a challenging journey.

“And you need that one thing that constantly reminds you of why you are doing this,” she said.

By encouraging contestants to embrace their identity and by backing Zimbabwe’s contestants, Tunzi has warmed her way into the hearts of many. Pageantry lovers will be watching to see whether Zimbabwe can make history.  Zozibini Tunzi will hope to lead the celebration of African excellence from the front.
