Miss South Africa Introduces ‘The Mandate’, a New Docuseries
Miss South Africa has introduced The Mandate, a seven-part docuseries following the 19 finalists competing for the 2026 title. The series documents their preparation for the competition, including personal introductions, photoshoots, team challenges and entrepreneurial assignments.
The programme explores aspects of the competition that extend beyond the traditional pageant format. Contestants take part in activities designed around teamwork, communication, business and leadership, giving viewers a look at the tasks they undertake during the competition.

One of the challenges, titled The Race, puts the finalists in a team setting where they must work within time limits to complete their assigned tasks. The series also includes an entrepreneurial exercise in which contestants work with business owners and learn about their operations before presenting their opportunities to an audience.

Empower Youth Africa (EYA), the Miss South Africa Organisation’s social impact initiative, is another part of the programme. The contestants are expected to develop proposals linked to issues affecting young people and their communities. This element brings attention to the social responsibility associated with the title and the work contestants may pursue beyond the competition.
Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe, patron of the Miss South Africa Organisation, has been associated with the organisation’s emphasis on leadership and social impact. However, the series also places the contestants’ individual efforts and performance at the centre of the story, allowing viewers to follow their participation in the challenges.

The Mandate is available through the official Miss South Africa streaming platform. The reported price is R75 for access to the seven episodes. Viewers should check the official platform for current pricing and episode availability.
The docuseries adds another dimension to the Miss South Africa 2026 competition by documenting the finalists’ activities before the winner is announced. For viewers following this year’s contestants, it offers a closer look at the preparation and assignments that form part of their experience.
