Cardi B’s ‘Am I the Drama?’ Breaks Records with Fastest Platinum Certification
Cardi B is back with a bang. On Friday, September 19, 2025, the rapper finally dropped her long-awaited album, Am I the Drama?, and it didn’t take long to make history. Within just hours of release, the project was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), making it the fastest female album ever to reach that milestone.
This is Cardi’s follow-up to her 2018 debut, Invasion of Privacy, which first put her on the map as a global star. The new album, released under Atlantic Records, is packed with big-name collaborations, including Megan Thee Stallion, Summer Walker, Selena Gomez, Tyla, Kehlani, Lizzo, Janet Jackson, and more.

The title, Am I the Drama?, came from the mix of personal drama Cardi has faced over the years and also from a viral meme in the Drag Race community, originally said by Scarlet Envy. Cardi even confirmed that she and Scarlet have something in the works together.
The album itself doesn’t shy away from controversy. Some songs take direct shots at rivals and critics, while others pry into her personal life.
Fans had been waiting years for this moment, with countless delays, online rants, and endless speculation about whether the album would ever arrive. But Cardi delivered, and the results speak for themselves.

By including earlier hits like WAP and Up, the project gained an extra boost, helping it smash records on day one. With this achievement, Cardi B has shown once again that when she’s up, she owns the charts.
Her next big move is The Little Miss Drama Tour in 2026, where fans will get to see the album performed live.
